Job Title: Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator is a full-time, year-round employee and is a member of the Program Team.
The Program Coordinator assists in implementing the daily programming at all sports and recreational venues. The Program Coordinator is expected to work 40 hours each week and be able to work weekends and evenings as needed.
This is a non-exempt position
This position is based out of Newry, ME, and includes travel to other locations in Maine
This position reports to the Program Director
Work with the Program team, Program Administrator and Operations Director
Coordinate with the Program team and Equipment Technicians to ensure that all aspects of the daily program and specialty programs are covered.
Schedule participants and volunteers for lesson times so as to maximize the number of individuals able to participate on a given program day.
Work with Advisors & volunteers to review participant applications, goals, and assessments to ensure a positive experience and that progress is being made towards goals.
Ensure that Maine Adaptive owns and maintains the equipment necessary to provide students and volunteers with a fun and safe experience.
Maintain accurate daily records of volunteer and participant attendance and ticket use, and provide that information to the headquarters on a timely and regular basis.
Implement Maine Adaptive’s Safety and Risk Management Program to ensure the safe participation of all participants and volunteers.
Assist Advancement Team in outreach efforts to encourage participation of new participants and volunteers.
Assist with the planning and coordination of development and engagement activities during the year.
Assist the Program Manager to implement the Intern program
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a disability-related field.
Knowledge, understanding, and experience working with people who have a wide range of disabilities.
Skills and Capabilities
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with highly confidential information.
Organization and planning skills.
Ability to consistently lift, carry and transfer participants and equipment that may weigh 50 or more pounds.
Ability to work independently to achieve weekly and seasonal program goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written, and verbal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
Communicate clearly, honestly and respectfully with all staff, participants, parents and volunteers.
A passion for the Maine Adaptive mission.
Successfully pass a background screening.
A willingness to adjust hours and work from a home office to accommodate the needs of the job.
